Berard's game is poise and skill, with quality skating abilities thrown in on top. He moves the puck with authority, although he seems more of a distributor than a scorer. His skating gets him into and out of tight spots, and he looks confident that he can escape trouble whenever he needs to. Moves the puck expertly, both in technique and reads, and often finds the player who needs the puck the most. Played well in his zone, but he looked a lot better moving forward. Has a bit of bite to his game, too.
