Definitely more of a scorer than a playmaker. Guenther has an excellent array of shots, with power and accuracy, that he uses often. His passing and vision are good, but he finishes chances far more than he creates them. He has very good straight-line speed and is agile in his turns and changes of direction. He can give and absorb hits, plays from the dots in, and will make his living beating NHL goaltenders from the left circle.
