As a 9/25/2000 birthdate, Lavoie is a 2019 draft prospect with good size at 6'3 177. Has only seen regular Halifax minutes over the last couple of months, but has 6 points in his last 14 games. Showed good speed, a solid hockey sense and ice awareness, but looks raw. At a draft-minus-2 player, however, he has a lot of time to improve and could be a top prospect going into his draft year.

The 2019-draft-eligible forward showed good hands, edgework and finishing ability. Great size at 6'3 and still has plenty of time to add to his 176 pounds. Still some polishing to do on some of the rougher edges of his game, but Lavoie is a player to monitor.

One of the few minor critiques I can make on Lavoie’s game is that he might need to work on shot accuracy. Other than that this kid has all the makings of the next great out of Halifax. There’s no doubt this guy is a high end 1st rounder next year, the only question is how high.

Disappointing showing from Lavoie in this game. He has the hands and size, and he can skate, but he looks like he's putting out about 75% effort. That might be enough on most nights in Major Juniors for someone with his level of skill, but he will level out fast if he doesn't start getting his work rate up.

Much better effort in this game than I saw from him earlier in the season. He had a lot of jump, was active at both ends, moving well without the puck, and he had several excellent looks at the net. I'm still not sold on his overall creativity or ability to generate quality chances on his own, but when he's active, he find space on the ice and takes advantage of it, either with his shot or by finding open teammates. Definitely an NHL-level talent, depending on his effort level.

Lavoie moving away from the pass instead of coming back to it, allows Khovanov to step between and intercept to start the game winning rush. A nice play by Khovanov, but that goal is on Lavoie.

Lavoie is a player that will make Oilers fans insane. He's big, smooth and so skilled, has a laser beam wrist shot, but he only plays at about 80% most of the time. He doesn't look disinterested, he just doesn't seem to have the high revving motor that would make him a star player.
