McLeod is the type of player that makes coaches drool. World-class skating ability with a solid frame. What I didn't see in this game was the ability to turn those attributes into offense. Appears like a complementary player who needs to develop more aggressive scoring attitude.

Elite skating, speed, and edge work will make McLeod dangerous each time he hops over the boards. Possibly the fastest skater in the draft, he seems to be too fast for his own good. The brain is not processing the game as the speed his feet will take him. Offensively, not a huge threat, but capable.

Mike McLeod must be seen in person to appreciate his skating. Both with and without the puck, the skating is elite. Fast, agile, powerful, quick first steps. McLeod while offensively a threat, wasn’t able to get much done in the way of play creation, but that is not his game. His game is unmatchable speed, good vision, solid hands. Hockey IQ could be better, but it won’t hold him back. He might be a top 10 pick, more likely in the 12-20 range.

Even after having just returned from knee surgery, McLeod was easily the best skater on the ice. However, I have yet to see him display any creativity with the puck. Needs someone to help him utilize his speed.
