Spectacularly well-timed pinch gains puck possession and a rapid-fire attack. His choice garnered a full-on slapper from the high slot. Then he stays active, wins the puck in the right corner, and when Hoefenmayer goes deep into the opposite corner, Matier is back to his point.

A 16-year-old defender playing a lot of minutes and asked to cover a lot of ice while his d-partner is actively engaged in the attack. He made some mistakes, but also made some excellent decisions with and without the puck. He already has size at 6'3 and 184 pounds, and skates well. He looks like a very promising prospect for the 2021 draft and beyond.
