When a puck kicked free out of his defensive zone, Chromiak just blew past Nico Gross and the far side defender, gets to the puck, settles it on the fly (and wow, was he flying) for a clear breakaway. His deke put the Lemiuex down, but the Oshawa netminder still managed to flail and get a piece and the puck flutters over the bar. That was a show of speed right there.

A rare bit of sloppy puck movement by Tomasino gifts Chromiak with a puck right at the crease. With almost zero time, Chromiak pulls off a spinning backhand shot attempt that was saved. It was a creative play from pure reaction. I liked it.

Played the first half of the season in the top Slovakian league, and that experience was evident in his calm, professional play on the ice. He has tremendous straight line speed when he uses it, and good edgework and lateral mobility. He needs some work on accuracy of passing and some of his choices made it look like he was still adjusting to the North American game. He looks bigger on the ice than his 6'0, 183-pound listing.
