PK faceoff in his own zone, pucks goes to the point and Mercer uses his quickness to get out and pressure McIsaac, creating the turnover, then he's gone like a flash for a clean breakaway that Gravel saved with a good effort. Nice play by Mercer, using speed and effort to create a high-end chance shorthanded.

His speed is a weapon. Creates another turnover and hustles the puck towards the net before his feet are swept out from beneath him. He needs only one step and he separates from everyone.

Liked his game a lot. Constant pressure at both ends, exceedingly fast, darting and over distance. More importantly, he utilizes his speed to its full effect, causing major problems for the other team. He is 6'0 and 172 pounds, over a point per game so far this season, and he's in his draft-minus-one year as a 2020 draft-eligible player. One to watch, for sure.

Simply one of my favorite players of this draft, and has been for a while. He looks lean, and his power skating needs work, but his is agile and rarely loses out on getting to the spot before his opponents. His hockey iq is ridiculous, which helps overcome the missing top gear. But it's his hands that shine when he has the puck on his stick, and he seems to see plays no one else notices. Just a fantastic player and a potential NHL superstar.
