Hard-effort game, good quickness and a willingness to get to the net, but nothing really impressive in this game. Some sloppy play at times and poor decisions. He has tools, though, and will need more viewings to get a good read on his abilities

Necas is a smaller, shifty player that is listed at under 150 pounds on EliteProspects.com but looks thicker than that, but not by much. His play against men in the top Czech league has been good in two viewings and shows a good nose for the puck. He isn’t afraid of attempting to put a hit on the opposition, but it usually isn’t that effective due to his lack of size. His skating is slightly above average but has good fluid transitions. More power could be used in his stride. His hands and vision both look very good and despite not seeing top six minutes, has generated at least two good looks for himself and his teammates in both games. Necas has physical limitations at this time, but smart play helps minimize their effects. He has been named to the preliminary WJC roster for the Czech Republic and it will be very interesting to see how he does against players of similar size and development.

Necas's game continues to improve in all aspects. His on-ice development has been excellent, but the one thing that hasn't really improved at all has been his already remarkable leadership and work ethic. Necas has always been a player that spurs his team on with his nonstop effort and now that the rest of his game--skating, immediate change of direction, shot and passing--have caught up to his iq and natural leadership, he has become as close to an NHL certainty as prospects can get. Excellent and admirable hockey player.
