There have been at least three times this game where Hischier has a made a play while down on the ice. Never gives up in the offensive zone. Will he develop that same tenacity on D? If so, he'll become a highly dangerous and effective player.

The best player on the ice, without question. Hischier needs to spend some more effort on the backcheck and in the defensive zone, but his play in his own end is not a liability and will improve. His offensive skills and speed are excellent, and his vision is excellent or better. He shows great awareness and patience on the ice, and was untouchable when he had the puck on his stick. He should be a top choice for the 2017 draft

Hard to determine what aspect of his game is most dominant, his ultimate confidence in his abilities, or the abilities themselves. Hischier bends the game to his will, and I don't recall an ineffective shift in this game. His shot selection, timing, passing, vision, skating, willingness to engage in physical play, leadership on and off the ice, work effort. It's all there in every shift he plays. A strong argument can be made that he is the best player in this draft class.
