Liljegren is considered the top defender in the 2017 NHL entry draft and it is easy to see why. After a bout of mono to start the 2016-17 season, he has quickly come back for Rogle and been a steady, calm presence for one of the weaker teams in the SHL. Liljegren’s skating ability is excellent and fluid. Transitions and edge work are exemplary. Skating with the puck is impressive, carrying the play up ice with his head up and ready to make a play. He has a good shot overall, but can be prone to firing from deep on the blueline with little chance of effectiveness. Would like to see a bit more patience with shots from the point. However when considering he is a 17-year-old defender who is entering his second professional season with Rogle, and considering his position, Lilegren is one of the very top players and should be off the board quickly.
