Hicketts with a handful of solid hits tonight. Keeping himself in position, as well. It was the Royals third road game in three nights and he looked to be a bit winded towards the end of the game. Victoria leaned hard on him, and he doesn’t takes shift off. Took himself out of position a few times trying to make hits, but I like that he is looking to make physical contact.

Hicketts has a compete level that is hard to match. His best play was two poke checks from his stomach, gets the puck and rifles a shot over the net. Does not give an inch anywhere on the ice. Took himself out of position trying to make big hits, but it’s something he needs to keep in his game at his height.

Timo Meier buried by Joe Hicketts. Hicketts is 30 pounds lighter and 5” shorter, and lights up the much larger player. Hicketts loves the rough stuff.
