Brandt ClarkeNoteTries to spin a backhand pass out to the point on the powerplay. Not a great choice, almost intercepted for a breakaway. He needed to be smarter with the puck there. Brian FogartySault Ste Marie vs Barrie (OHL)12/19/20196/19/202010221

Brandt ClarkeNoteTries to take the puck end-to-end, shows good speed and handling through the neutral zone, tries to drag around a defender but loses his feet and the puck. Odd-man rush goes the other way. Brian FogartySault Ste Marie vs Barrie (OHL)12/19/20196/19/202010221

Brandt ClarkeNoteIn the offensive zone, puck on his stick, dips around a defender, closes on net, and a flick of his wrist beats the goaltender from three feet out, but he hits the post. Brian FogartySault Ste Marie vs Barrie (OHL)12/19/20196/19/202010221
Brandt ClarkeNoteStandard setup has him on the left halfboards while on the powerplay.Brian FogartySault Ste Marie vs Barrie (OHL)12/19/20196/19/202010221
Brandt ClarkeSummaryClarke was involved in all facets of the game, including on the top powerplay unit with a lot of responsibility to work the puck on the left side, He is a skilled puckhandler and a great skater, using his power and edges effectively. Mobile and quick while changing directions, he's able to slightly shift his position efficiently when needed. He looks like a defenseman who plays behind his blue line with the sole intent of regaining possession and pushing play back into the offensive zone. A few of his choices while puckcarrying were a bit over-exuberant and risky, but in general his play was quite sound with and without the puck. He passes well and has a quick release on his shot either in close or from range. A 2021 player to watch closely.Brian FogartySault Ste Marie vs Barrie (OHL)12/19/20196/19/202010221
Brandt ClarkeNoteClarke is easily the best player on the ice in this game. So assured, a constant presence, always dangerous.Brian FogartyBarrie vs Sudbury (OHL)10/28/202111/8/202110245
